ARTIST PORTRAIT

Brigitte Jaeckel, born in Stuttgart in 1950, lives and works in Sandhausen near Heidelberg as a freelance artist and painter.

From an early age she was fascinated by the work of her father, who was a graphic artist, lithographer and painter.

Through him, art has become her world as a matter of course.

After graduating from high school, her studies in Stuttgart at the State Art Academy and in London at the Slade School Of Fine Art,

as well as longer stays in South America, Australia and the South Pacific, have made her painting versatile

and influenced her perspective from an early age.

During the 2-year training as a master student with Prof. Jo Bukowski, the sea inspired her imagination

and Jaeckel addresses this in her mostly dreamlike, slightly abstract paintings and ink drawings.

But she also illustrates in many of her works the horror at the destruction caused by us humans, through greed and laziness.

At the same time, however, the artist also sees our responsible youth.

And so her pictures of a happy children's world are created, in almost naive painting, which shows hope.

Brigitte Jaeckel presents her works at exhibitions and fairs in Germany, Europe and abroad.
